We've made a big step
We’re thrilled to announce that as of October 31, 2024, we’ve taken a significant step forward by acquiring The Laptop Company (TLC). This strategic move leverages the unique strengths of both Softsource vBridge and TLC, creating one of New Zealand’s largest privately-owned IT groups.
Our CEO, Pablo Garcia-Curtis, shared his excitement about this milestone, saying, “This acquisition is a significant milestone for us. It allows us to offer a broader range of solutions while maintaining the exceptional service our customers expect.”
We’ve entered into a 100% share purchase agreement with TLC, a company established in 1986 and previously owned by David Pettengell. TLC is renowned for supplying managed computer fleets to the corporate and financial sectors, as well as to the public sector through the All of Government (AOG) IT Hardware contract.
“With their unrivalled reputation for customer service, prominence in the Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch enterprise spaces, and a support network that covers the country for all major brands, we could not hope for a better fit for our existing team and culture.”
This union amplifies our customer-centric growth goals. Together, we aim to drive significant advancements for our clients. TLC will continue to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary under the leadership of long-term CEO Mark Mayo and CFO Andrew Robinson.
Mark Mayo shares the enthusiasm, saying, “Our shared values and successful past collaborations made this a natural fit. We are excited at the prospect of being able to bring more to the table for our customers. The acquisition allows us to do this while providing more value, capacity, and capability.”
“We are confident in Softsource vBridge’s ability to complement TLC’s legacy of excellence. It’s an exciting time.”
